I was speaking to a recent former member the other day and confirmed my suspicions. The group has officially changed tactics due to the jail sentence. The biggest 'modification': Jung is NOT the Messiah any longer. Not sure if this is just what he is telling the general masses and new members or if he really wants people to believe he is not "The One".

In any case, it just goes to show what lengths Jung will go to to preserve his loyal following. But come on, changing the very core of the doctrine and movement? That was the whole point of studying the "30 Lessons": to realize Jung's mission. Without it, it's just another knock off of Christianity complete with "hell, fire and brimstone," Jesus returning to judge the wicked, Holy Communion, etc.

Hmm, makes for an interesting case study in narcissism at it's worst.  Wink

Hi Scarlet,
I'd be interested to know what your friend thought of that!

I heard recently they're still claiming Jeong is receiving revelations from God, so despite the Messiah flip-flop, the attention and focus is still very much on Jeong as the sole provider of God's words. So in effect, he's still very much the cult leader he always was... just a jailed one who I'm sure would rather be anywhere else.

Still, I wonder if they're going to rewrite the 30 lessons. Perhaps they'll keep them as is and Jeong's brother will be promoted to messiah??

I thought about this before, so just sharing my point here.

According to an article on News'n'Joy on 2009/Jan/27, few days before Jenong's sexual assult criminal case be sentanced on Soeul High Court, the article summarised Jeong's second trial in the High Court, and mentioned that "Jeong changed this doctrine on a sermon (while in Jail) on 2008/Dec/7".  (http://www.newsnjoy.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=26847, section 1, paragrah 3, in Korean).  Well, we all know that Jeong told the court that he was no Messiah.  Since there are poeple attending the court, this message will leak out anyway.  So he might as well make it official.

However, does that change anything?

I mean, JMS people had long been lying about whether Jeong is the Messiah.  They never publicly said nor public taught that Jeong is the Messiah.  And when being question about this matter, they always said "whether Jeong is Messiah or not is up to the individual person to experience".  It had been their policy NOT to reveal whehter Jeong is Messiah.  Well, Jeong's move is just making that "public lying" or "personal revelation" doctrine official.

Regarding whether Joeng is Messiah or not, it had never been an issue.  The problem with JMS is they adhere to Jeong's teaching and allowing him to conduct evil acts.  If Jeong is not Messiah, that's fine, they still adhere to jeong's teaching, and they still allow Jeong (and his organisation) to conduct evil acts.  So the issue here is "Do JMS follower continue to follow Jeong even if Jeong claimed he is not Messiah", and the answer, sadly, is "Yes, they do".  Since they have been brain-washed to adhere Jeong's teaching.  Wheter Jeong is Messiah or not, does not matter at all.

Honestly, the best thing we can do, is to document this change in doctrine as best as possible.  Because when JMS is recruiting new follower, there will be someone "who truly seek the truth instead of seeking being brain-washed".  And we have to provide iformation to them.

i remembered after Jung claiming himself is not the Messiah,
he praised the followers through a message saying that,
"you all are well-trained by me, that's why you all can keep up with the changing in Providence....."

he sounded like members are puppy  that is well-trained by him,
which is another reason caused me to leave Providence Roll Eyes
