Cult Followers Break into Dong-A Ilbo Office
JANUARY 15, 2008 06:37

Members of the religious cult JMS broke into the editorial office of the Dong-A Ilbo Monday morning. They smashed the glass entrance on the 13th floor to enter the daily`s office, demanding the removal of articles on the cult`s founder Jeong Myeong-seok. Jeong is reportedly hiding in China after being accused by former women followers of committing sexual assault and rape.

For reference: "Monday morning" refers to 14 Jan

Yowzer - the arrest really is making them quite militant isn't it? Troubling....

I googled this to see if there was any more details on the story, and look what I found. Moonies stormed the same office in '06, straight from the old falsemessiah boards. Pretty ironic seeing we've just seen Ralph blow his top over a posting saying that JMS ripped off the Moonies, they can't even do insane cult attacks on newspapers in an original fashion.

Let's hope Moon never gets on top of protecting his intellectual copyrights, eh?

Seven of the protestors were in court yesterday, thanks to JC for the tip.
Here's a Korean article:

If I'm reading it right 6 have to pay damages between 10 and 20 million Korean won. (10 million won is about $1000 US)
There's a couple of periods of time mentioned 14 days and 4 weeks... not sure about that, but should have more details soon.
