New York Church "Won Bit"
« on: March 10, 2007, 05:42:49 AM »
On May 20, 2006, JMS's New York pastor announced with great pride the opening of a new church in Manhatten on 35th Street and 8th Avenue for the group's New York branch called New York Wonbit (One Light) Ministries. It was billed as a place for worshipping God (Jeong) and the training of future brides (rape victims).

A website for the NY branch was later revealed on the forums of Exodus, Korea's anti-JMS NGO:

www.onelightministries.com

Update: Despite the joy and excitement with which the site was announced, it didn't last long:

Remnants are available on the Internet Archive here.

That website included a couple of videos that were very quickly deleted. Obviously, the cult didn't mean for their new site to be viewed by critics, hence the church's name and website url which could not be easily traced back to the JMS cult. Secrecy is the name of the game, but as I mentioned, the link was shared on the Korean anti-JMS site. Here are the original links, though they no longer work:
http://www.onelightministries.com/html/clip1.html
http://www.onelightministries.com/html/clip2.html

The Internet Archive again has remnants of those pages sans photos and videos:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070916051028/http://www.onelightministries.com/html/clip1.html
http://web.archive.org/web/20070606160039/http://www.onelightministries.com/html/clip2.html

The cult quickly removed those videos, perhaps after seeing them linked from here, and replaced the first one with a short animation video announcing themselves as the givers of unconditional love. I'm sure a few former members would disagree with the idea that anything is unconditional in Providence. The opposite is in fact true: friendships and relationships are entirely conditional on accepting Jung as God. Rather a large condition considering all the charges against him (and his subsequent arrest, trial, and imprisonment).

The video showed female members dancing to this song:

One Night Only

You want all my love and my devotion
You want my loving soul right on the line
I have no doubt that I could love you forever
The only trouble is, I really don't have the time

You've got one night only, one night only
That's all you have to spare
One night only, let's not pretend to care

One night only, one night only
Come on, big baby, come on
One night only, we only have till dawn

One night only...
One night only...
One night only...
And here' the song, so you can imagine the video a little better:

Screenshot from JMS's version:

Other disturbing elements of the site, given the leader is a convicted serial rapist, include a call for models aged 15 to 25 with a minimum height of 5 feet 8 (with the qualification that 5 feet 7 is OK) and an offer to tutor grade 7 through 12 students in the subjects of maths, English, and social studies. Students in grade 7 are typically 12 years old.

The cult's New York site lists a new address:
Quote
We are located on 35th Street, Manhattan New York between 7th and 8th avenue.
Not very specific. Anyone up for taking a look?

That site seems to be gone, and the homepage is replaced with a message that says the account has been suspended... cool!

Here are some screen shots:

Not surprising considering they now have nobody to send these photos of young women to anymore.  Rather than rape new members, they seem to be fighting over old sloppy seconds back in Korea these days.

I happened to be near 261 W 35th St this afternoon and stepped into the building just for kicks.  looked like an ordinary office building to me, and there was no sign of "One Light Ministries."  Does anyone know if the NY church exists anymore?

Mr. G is still deep in the cult, if that's anything to go by...but here's hoping their New York branch is toast  :D
